The Fiesta SportTrophy Finland series started with Joensuu Rally, on 6^th March 2010. It was a successful beginning for the series, which includes all of the remaining Finnish Championship summer events and also WRC Neste Oil Rally in Jyväskylä.

The first round of FST Finland proved to be a triumphant rally for Jussi Kumpumäki and co-driver Jani Laaksonen. They were fastest Fiesta R2 driver in all eight stages. The pair finished in sixth place overall in a highly competitive Finnish Championship front wheel drive class.

Kumpumäki explained, "the first couple of stages were not perfect for us. Maybe I was trying too hard, loosing some time sliding on corners. The second part of the event was really good for me, I was pleased with my stage times."

Second in the Fiesta R2 class was Pekka Savela followed be third in class Raimo Kaisanlahti.

FST Finland organiser Teemu Horkama was very pleased after the opening round commenting that, "all cars ran without problems and drivers comments were really positive. I must be happy after starting the series in Finland on such a positive note. We have two more cars joining the series on the summer events and there was lot of new interest for Fiesta R2 cars during Joensuu Rally, so the future for FST Finland looks very good."
