The Fiesta SportTrophy Finland series started with Joensuu Rally, on 6th March 2010. It was a successful beginning for the series, which includes all of the remaining Finnish Championship summer events and also WRC Neste Oil Rally in Jyväskylä.
The first round of FST Finland proved to be a triumphant rally for Jussi Kumpumäki and co-driver Jani Laaksonen. They were fastest Fiesta R2 driver in all eight stages. The pair finished in sixth place overall in a highly competitive Finnish Championship front wheel drive class.

M-Sport introduces a new championship and an all-new Fiesta rally car
Ever since its 2006 inception, the Fiesta SportingTrophy (FST) has been a tremendous success. There are two reasons for this. Quality not quantity was the order of the day at the first round of the 2010 Fiesta SportTrophy Ireland championship. The Safety Direct Galway International Rally (6 February 2010) saw four Fiesta crews competing over the nine stages, totalling 136stage km, used on day one of the full international rally. Three stages made up day one with each stage visited on three occasions. Of the four FST entries all but one would score a stage victory in what proved to be a closely fought contest.

The 2010 Fiesta SportTrophy (FST) Ireland season kicks off in style this weekend at the Safety Direct Galway International Rally. 2010 sees the start of a new era for FST Ireland with the introduction of the Fiesta R2. Competing alongside the tried and tested production class Fiesta ST, drivers in both cars are eligible to score championship points and win a share of the prize fund.

The new Ford Fiesta R2 rally car performed for the first time in snowy conditions last weekend in Arctic Rally, Rovaniemi. 20-year-old Finnish rally talent, Jussi Kumpumäki, and professional racing car driver Mika Salo were happy to compete the demanding event without any technical problems.
After the two-day rally and 12 special stages Kumpumäki finished fourth in class and Salo finished 10th.

Prospective customers for the Fiesta SportTrophy Ireland 2010 will get a chance to sample the new Ford Fiesta R2 on Tuesday 19th January 2010. The promotional day takes place at Rally School Ireland, Scotstown, County Monaghan. Prospective customers will have the chance to sit in the co-drivers seat and experience the new car around the Rally School Ireland course. M-Sport's Andrew Wheatley and Fiesta SportTrophy Ireland co-ordinator Callum Craw will be on hand to answer any questions about the new car or the 2010 FST Ireland.
